I hope you are all doing well! Quick question, does daily aspirin lower FACTOR VIII RISTOCETIN COFACT and FACTOR VIII ACTIVITY ASSAY or is this a result of ET? My 16 yo daughters results have dropped from date: 12/21 - 44L to date: 06/22 - 37L everything else is normal, with the exception of 843 platelets ( which is a lower number for her)
Thank you so much for the input! This is a bit overwhelming and I am trying my best to understand everything and make the right decisions on her behalf (with the assistance of the hematologist and experienced input from you)

I do not believe that the aspirin would lower the von Willebrand factors. It is actually the thrombocytosis that does that. The thing to watch for is that lower vWB factors can increase hemorrhage risk. Aspirin exacerbates this. The tricky part is that when the vWB factors are lower, but not so low as to constitute Acquired von Willebrand Disease, there can still be issues with excessive bleeding/bruising. I used to experience this, particularly when my platelets got above 800K.
The other thing to note is that people with blood type O tend to run a bit lower on vWB Factors naturally. Just something to be aware of when looking at these numbers.
